Misti Cordell Signs U.S. Term Limits Pledge

"Congress has Enough Career Politicians"

WEST MONROE, LA - Misti Cordell, the Republican Party of Louisiana's endorsed candidate for Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District, announced today that she has signed the U.S. Term Limits Congressional Pledge - committing to support a constitutional amendment establishing term limits for members of Congress.

Cordell, a conservative businesswoman and community leader from rural Louisiana, said the pledge reflects a core difference in the race: she is running to serve the district, not to build a political career in Washington.

“I signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge because Congress has enough career politicians,” Cordell said. “Our district doesn’t need a ladder climber looking for the next title.”

The U.S. Term Limits pledge asks House and Senate candidates to support a constitutional amendment limiting congressional service. Cordell said she signed it because public office should remain a duty, not a lifestyle.

“I’m a fighter for Louisiana - not a career politician for Washington,” Cordell said. “I’ve spent my life working alongside the people I want to represent, not climbing the political ladder. Public service should mean going to Washington, doing the job, and coming home. Power should never become a lifestyle.”

Cordell has made lowering costs for working families, strengthening rural healthcare, supporting Louisiana farmers and small businesses, improving education, securing the border, and defending conservative values central to her campaign. She has contrasted her private-sector healthcare experience and rural Louisiana background with the career politicians also seeking the seat.

“The good ole boys have plenty of voices in D.C. It’s time rural Louisiana had one that remembers who sent her there,” Cordell said. “I’ll take the values of this district with me every single day. And I will never forget who I work for.
