Sheriffs Endorse Misti Cordell for Congress
Law enforcement leaders cite Cordell's focus on public safety
MONROE, LA - Sheriff Bryan Linder of Franklin Parish, Sheriff Chad Ezell of Madison Parish, and Sheriff Rob Rushing of Tensas Parish have endorsed Misti Cordell for Congress, saying she will stand with local law enforcement and prioritize public safety for families across the district.
“I will help our law enforcement fight crime and protect Louisiana; that’s why these Sheriffs and others are backing me for Congress,” Cordell said. “These leaders put the safety of our communities first, and I am committed to standing with them.”
“Our deputies and police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect Louisiana families,” Cordell said. “They deserve the resources, respect, and support to do their jobs. My position is simple: defend, don’t defund, our law enforcement.”
The sheriffs cite Cordell’s strong support for local officers, her commitment to tougher enforcement of criminal laws, and her positions on border security. They also praise her as honest, ethical, and hard-working.
Cordell, a Monroe-area small-business owner, wife, mother of two, and Chair of the Louisiana Board of Regents, has made backing law enforcement and securing the border central priorities of her campaign.
“A secure border is a national security issue that affects communities far beyond the border itself,” Cordell said. “Fentanyl and other drugs coming across the border are already impacting Louisiana communities. I support completing the border wall, increasing immigration enforcement, and combating drug cartels.”
Cordell’s public-safety platform also includes defending Second Amendment rights. She recently received the highest rating possible from the National Rifle Association.
